Self-Funded University Programs
Affordable Korean university degrees without full scholarships
Affordable tuition at Korean universities.
Not everyone gets GKS — and that is fine. Korean universities are remarkably affordable compared to Australia, USA, UK, or Canada. National university tuition ranges from ₩4-6 million per year (NPR 4.2-6.3 lakh) — a fraction of what you would pay in the West. Many universities also offer 30-100% tuition scholarships based on grades and TOPIK level. Self-funded study in Korea gives you access to world-class education, Korean language skills, and career opportunities in Asia's fourth-largest economy, all at a total cost that is lower than most study abroad destinations.
- National university tuition from ₩4,000,000/year (approx. NPR 4.2 lakh) — among the cheapest in the developed world
- Many universities offer 30-70% tuition scholarships based on grades and TOPIK score
- KAIST and POSTECH offer full tuition to ALL admitted graduate students regardless of nationality
- D-2 Student visa with part-time work rights
- Lower living costs than Australia, USA, UK, or Canada
- Degree recognized globally — Korean universities are rising fast in world rankings
Exchange Programs
Spend a semester in Korea through your Nepali university
Semester exchange through partner universities.
Exchange programs offer Nepali university students the opportunity to spend one or two semesters at a Korean partner university without transferring or starting a new degree. You remain enrolled at your home university in Nepal, take courses in Korea that transfer back to your degree, and experience Korean university life firsthand. Exchange programs are an excellent low-risk way to experience studying in Korea, build Korean language skills, and decide if you want to pursue a full degree in Korea later. Several Nepali universities have active exchange agreements with Korean universities.
- Spend 1-2 semesters at a Korean university while keeping your Nepali enrollment
- Credits transfer back to your home university degree
- Lower cost than starting a full degree — many exchanges waive Korean tuition
- Excellent way to test if Korea is right for you before committing to a full degree
- Build Korean language skills and international network
- Access to Korean university facilities, clubs, and cultural activities
